Blob Boy relaxes between picture-taking sessions

Atop the "rest break blob" north of Delicate Arch view map

This “rest break blob” was a nice place to sit and watch the parade of hikers going to Delicate Arch. The shape of the rock allowed me to lean back and relax as I observed and snacked.

While I took a break from photography, Joe Tripod (my personal assistant) secretly grabbed my camera, put it on his head, and snapped this picture. He then returned it to its original position when I was staring at the landscape. He is so Slik that I can't believe it. When I got home and downloaded this photo I realized he had pulled off the photographic coup of the century. What a guy!

I would have bonded with a sand wich and a beer about then.

The closest I got to peyote was the deliberate touching of cactus spines: the experience was sobering, not intoxicating. I prefer to reach enhanced states of consciousness by looking at the wonders of nature instead of eating or smoking them. Achieving oneness with sandstone can make me high too, but here the bonding was incomplete.
