Locomotive movements at Interbay

Seattle, Washington view map

This looks north-northeast toward the Galer Street overpass and Magnolia, a high-priced residential area. Below the trees at the base of the hill is Interbay, the area between Elliot Bay on the south and Salmon Bay on the north. Interbay's primary feature is the BNSF freight yard, officially named Balmer Yard (after the late Thomas Balmer, a railroad attorney) but often called "Interbay."

Just out of view to the right is the commercial building that was the original home of The Vertical Club, the country's first indoor climbing gym.
