The area around the trailhead is called Wolfe Ranch after the ranch that existed here long ago (a
one-room ranch house still stands, well preserved). Delicate Arch is straight ahead, a little finger
on the horizon directly below the white dot in the sky. The trail ascends the large open area of
pinkish rock below the arch. Above the tall sign is a pinkish area: that's the tilted ridge at the Delicate Arch Viewpoint.
