Rephotography at Parriott Mesa

Highway 128, northeast of Moab, Utah view map

My car sits by State Route 128, opposite Parriott Mesa in 2004. In my hand is a print made from a slide that I shot in 2002, when I traveled here for the first time. On that earlier trip I did not make a note of where I had taken the photo, so in 2004 I resolved to figure it out. As I drove up the highway towards Dewey, I kept my eyes peeled for a mesa that looked like the one in the photo. Finding it was exhilarating.

Larry, I'm "a bit late" in responding to your comment
about your TV, but better late than never. You might
find that doing this with a camera is a lot easier than
doing it with a TV.

Thought I had commented on this before. It's a nice shot.
I can do almost the same thing with my TV.

Steve, I had a hunch you heeded the final warning voiced in the original version of the movie "The Thing," so I pasted in clouds from the day before just to see if you'd notice.

Dave, you need to do a better job getting the clouds to cooperate. Everything else is lined up very well.

Groovy idea.

Dave, thank you for your comments in my gallery. I have been to yours a couple of times before and have always been impressed by your curious and inquisitive mind. You are obviously a keen observer, and I certainly enjoy your sense of humor. Audrey and I have tried to find locations similar to this situation and it is fun and exhilarating when you find a spot again. Sometimes it has changed a lot and sometimes very little. As someome once said about Ansel Adams, "I'm glad that there is a Dave Beedon roaming around out there". Please continue to keep us informed of some of the oddities of the world!

Cool shot Dave

Of course now you need to print this out and ....oh, guess that gets to a point of being silly. Actually, I like this shot. Fact is, Dave, I like your silliness. You hereby and hereon are awarded the degree of S.A.P. => Self Amusing Personality. Of course, I am allowed to award that because "it takes one to know one." You now can likewise award that to others. Welcome, Brother! BTW, great retro color feel for this shot.
