Railing as metaphor

Renton, Washington view map

When I went to the downtown post office to mail my final roll of unprocessed slides, I was intrigued by the lines of this long handrail. Now I consider it a metaphor for my affair with film photography. Just as this handrail is long but has an end, my use of film endured for a long time but has an end. I took my first pictures in 1958 and exposed many a roll of film between then and September, 2003.

Personally, I prefer railing as a means of self-expression. I think this is actually the e-mail chute. Maybe Larry can help sort this out.

I too consider this a metaphor. When it came to buying a digital I wanted the best equipment I could afford. I don't have much money so like this bar I was bent out of shape, cornered and up against a wall.
