Ever since arriving in Maricopa I have been interested in climbing a moderate "mountain" named Pima Butte. It's a landmark along SR 347, several miles north of Maricopa. A minor dirt road leads from 347 to the flat area next to the butte.
When driving by on a return trips from Phoenix I noticed signs on a fence next to the dirt road. A few days ago I drove onto that dirt road to determine what the signs said. The photo shows what I found out. I guess that the butte is not in my future.
