This stunning photo documents a recent changing of the guard in our laundry room. At right is the remnant of the round soap bar that is the former soap used at the laundry tub. At left is the Ivory bar that replaced it. The older bar was unsightly, causing much embarrassment when we had visitors.
This change is evidence of process improvement.
Being the type of person who yearns for recognition, I have applied for an ISO 9000 certification for hand-washing in our laundry room. The ISO plaque will look good on the wall and will no doubt impress neighbors, appliance repair persons, and VIPs who drop by for photo ops.
Common sense dictates that the sequence of old to new should go from left to right, matching the reading direction of the English-speaking world. I rejected that composition because it did not look as balanced as this does. I hope that does not lessen my chances for the certification.
Facetious comments from my viewers will not be welcomed
with an outpouring of gratitude.
