The grade crossing and bright path beyond are both part of the Interurban Trail in Kent, Washington. In the background is the northern portion of a large automobile transloading facility. The two tracks are Union Pacific Railroad spurs running from the main line---behind my vantage point---to the facility.
This portion of the facility has been devoid of automobiles for a while; its occupants this night were a few tank cars (just beyond the fence) and, behind them, some covered hoppers. The tank cars had been there for at least a few weeks.
Much of the ground was wet from rain but the rain had stopped before I began this late-night ride on my recumbent trike. I took this picture at 11:21 p.m. Not surprisingly, there is very little street traffic at that time of day.
The photo was hand-held while I stood on the ground.
