This was shot in March 2004, a good season for snow and skiing at Snoqualmie Pass, Washington (south east of Seattle on I-90). The sno-cat is building a snowboarding pipe or jump; lots of snow was available.
By comparison, the 2014-15 season has been miserable, with little snowfall and temperatures that promote melting (global warming?). Websites I checked on 11 March said the snow depth was either 0 inches or 15 inches. Whatever the depth, it is far too little to support skiing. I think the ski areas here closed in December because of the poor conditions.
