This evening shot on the mud flat of Crater Island looks at blobs of mud I created two weeks earlier. They came from the tires of my handcart. I took this picture while examining the mud flat to determine if conditions were suitable for a second handcart hike. They were: the next day I hiked again.
Two weeks earlier I tried in vain to hike several miles on the Crater Island mud flat, but I had to abort the hike because the wet mud made travel impossible. I spent two weeks in Moab, then returned to try again. After arriving at Crater Island in early evening, I took this short walk onto the mud flat.
