Installing screws that attach the axle box to the brackets. The axle will sit in the slot on top. The slot had to be as long as the frame of my hand truck so the wheels would not move from side to side.
This was the one constraining factor in the cart's design.
The tool at left is a mattock I have on hand for road repairs. It is
great for loosening hard dirt and stones in preparation for shoveling.
Ralph Tripod, my photographic assistant near the car,
knows the drill: "just stand still."
