When we reached the east entrance, we opted to head out that way to the Lost City Museum, which
features relics found from the Anasazi culture more than 2,000 years ago. It was a cool little museum,
but the first thing that fascinated me was the fact that there were dozens of these little Painted
Lady butterflies swarming the bushes near the entrance. It seemed such an odd time of year to see
butterflies in general, but I thought maybe they were more prevalent in the southwest during the
winter. I asked the woman inside the museum about them, and she said they'd just showed up that day.
Talk about great timing. They were beautiful!
