PERFECT SANITATION. On several occasions, the nestlings "did their toilet thing" and either the male or female parent pulled the dropping from the rear of the "guilty" bird, flew a few meters away, and deposited the waste in a particular place in the ground. I'm amazed at the relative size of the dropping, but I'm absolutely stunned with how the parent Monarchs kept the nest clean.
