Hmmm... there must be quite a few of them now in Mt. Makiling. I've seen two individuals in this trip, plus a couple in the two previous ones.

Hi Romy,
I agree with Mark. The fully extended wing gives us a very good wing profile to work with and eliminates a whole lot, including Accipiter. I see also three rather wide transverse black tail bars rather than the four usually seen (and usually thinner) in other confusion species.

My best guess is a Japanese Sparrowhawk. This pic and the next are of the same individual.
