This rare capture in the wild of an interesting-looking endemic skulker is full of technical defects - busy background and unpleasing flashed look. Worse, I managed to cut off the tip of the tail in my haste to get a shot when it presented me a relatively clear line of fire at Mt. Makiling.
But then, my Top endemics list is not just about technical perfection, and I doubt if there are many good captures of this specie in its natural habitat. So, technical shortcomings and all, this photo squeezes into my elite roster.
With luck, some day in some rainforest in our beautiful islands, I promise to get a better shot of it that befits its unique status and looks in the avian world.
