On this Fall day 50 years ago I made it to the top of Mt. Washington. On the way up, my car overheated but fortunately there was cold water nearby to refill the radiator. What I remember most is that on this day, the temperature at ground level was 72 degrees but dropped to 32 degrees at the top. Additionally, it was a perfectly clear day which I was told only happens about 30 times a year.
