2nd October 2007 - lost and found

Oh I am so thrilled with DM tonight. He’s been working like a trooper all day today doing a job that we’ve had terrible trouble trying to find someone who can do this task for us so he’s manfully stepped forward to have a go himself – as he says, if he doesn’t make it work, then all we’ve lost is the cost of the materials – instead of losing the money we’d paid to someone else to fail too. If you see what he means.

Anyway, that’s not the only reason for being chuffed with him – he’s found my precious Ray-Bans. I thought I’d lost them on our trip to Mevagissy the other week but he’s just found them lurking in the bottom of his Billingham!

Now as you know, I’m incredibly sniffy about big brands but my precious Ray-Ban Wayfarers I make an exception for – tortoiseshell of course – nothing else would do.

He bought them for me (after lots of big hints) for my birthday a few years ago and I’ve worn them to death ever since. ‘Pass me my sunspecs’ is my frequent request when we set off on a journey in the car, which he thinks is hilarious in itself.

I’m as cavalier about them as I was my 10d and they’re also covered in Love marks from being shoved in my handbag, on top of my head or down my cleavage (as the situation requires) so they’re scratched to glory and back a few times and one of the arms is very wonky and sort of hanging off but they’re still precious to me.

Isn’t it funny how just slipping them on makes me feel like a gazillion dollars – one day I’m Audrey Hepburn, the next I’m Elwood Blues ‘It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses’ ……..HIT IT! Always, with my Wayfarers, I’m on top of the world…..at least while they’re on – when I take them off, it’s back to being boring old me, with all of my worries and woes.

So, when I thought they were gone forever, I was inconsolable – now, I’m bending over and shaking my tail feather with all I’ve got!

Last year i was photographing sexy curves!

I told DM I'd come over and help...

The mind is a terrible thing to waste. Yours is going 90 miles an hour, you are certainly getting full value of yours. Funny stuff.

Made me think of one of my favourite songs by Don Henley - Boys of Summer...
And i can see you
you brown skin shining in the sun

and sunglasses on baby

If I were a woman, I'd be Audrey Hepburn every day!
