Are there things that you look at each day and think ‘I’m going to photograph that one of these days’?
Well this is such an item for me. Like many women with longish hair, I always have loads of scrunchies and hair clips around and about to stick my hair out of the way when it gets on my nerves, I’m hot or I need to stop it getting paint on it or whatever….not that I ever manage to paint anything without ending up with it liberally in my hair as well as all over the rest of me.
This clip has been looked at then rejected a number of times because I’ve found something else that I want to talk about more. Today though, it is its turn for the spotlight. There is something fascinating and also rather scary about its shape don’t you think? It looks like something that could only be vicious yet is totally benign, unless you accidentally step on it or sit on it….not that I’m sitting much at the moment – still too sore after that fall down the stairs recently.
Tortoiseshell is as close as I ever get to brown – I don’t know why but it seems exotic and sexy while brown is, well, just plain nasty. It’s just some sort of weird rebellious thing in me that says even me – a grown woman (some would say middle-aged) can still wear something a bit flippant once in a while.
Why did it get picked today? Did I have a ‘mare of a day that I didn’t want to write about? No, actually, it was rather a good day but I just thought I’d do a studio shot for the first time in a while.
Two years ago, I was applauding the motorway caffs for getting decent coffee and last year I was being very 'bling-bling'!
