19th March 2005 - happiness is.......a hairy snout!

Remember me saying all I wanted was to have a hairy snout pushed in my face?

Well, here is a list of my top ten ‘things’ in life (not necessarily in order)….

1. DM (of course)
2. Rosie and Archie (joint)
3. My parents, Jan and her family, DM’s family
4. My friends and the things that are important to them
5. Real food
6. My home (very much where my heart is)
7. England’s greenness
8. Books
9. Music
10. Feeling happy

OK – today the following have been satisfied…..

DM was waiting for me at the airport and drove me home
Rosie and Archie were beside themselves with joy to see me (within half an hour of being home I’d had two hairy snouts pushed in my face more times than you could shake a stick at and by an hour in I was tucked up in bed with all three of my favourite beings on this planet….my immediate family if you get my drift)
My folks phoned and my little sis emailed
I have exchanged text messages with Sarah who is looking after our seats at the match
We had lunch made from our own home-made bread and freshly laid eggs
My home is looking perfect – especially the now-finished new bathroom
England is green, warm and sunny (what more could any homesick girl want)
All of my precious books are around me
We’ve been watching TOTP2 on the telly and loving it
Do I feel happy? You bet I do. Is this the best place in the world? You bet it is.

I am home.

Last year I was packing rather than unpacking for a trip to New Jersey and New York. Interestingly the year before I shot DM in our other bathroom....developing a film and it looked remarkably like the new bathroom!!!

Glad you are home safely Linda. I have a similar list to yours but 'England' isn't so high up - now Italy that could be featuring near the top for me.
