5th January 2005 - sick as a parrot!

No matter how often I hear the newscasters saying (and I quote from Radio 4 this evening) ‘a terrible refereeing blunder robbed Spurs of three points last night’ I am still as mad as hell about it. Last night’s decision was so outrageous that it has made headlines in the UK all day today and is still being talked about now.

In fact, one of the big bookmakers companies in the UK has paid out on all bets on Pedro Mendes to score as a ‘goodwill’ gesture. That’s a sure fire indication that there is no doubting this travesty of justice.

Somehow we have ended up with only one point and the thing they are all saying is ‘what if Moan U win the league by one point’ BUT to me there is a bigger danger – spot six gets a UEFA Cup place and we would have gone into sixth last night with a fair decision. What if our hopes of a European slot are thwarted by two points? That slot means a huge amount financially and emotionally to a team like Spurs.

So, to use the biggest, most well-known, footie cliché going – I am as sick as a parrot Brian!

Now I didn't think I'd find a use for that mouldy carrot but in the spirit of waste not want not it has been peeled, diced and mixed with a couple of teaspoons of yogurt, turmeric and a couple of scraps of sun-dried tomato!

This time last year, I was struggling with emails!

Do you mind if I laugh... this is charming shot. Sorry about the boys.

Yeah it doesn't matter how much the media go on about how the goal should have stood, it still doesn't make you feel any better!!

Well, at least we can all laugh at this photo - in fact the expression on this parrot's face is more misearble than Sir Alex. Hey, did I detect a brief lifting of his permamnant dour expression when even he admitted on TV that Spurs had 'scored'.
Oh, and Northie, are you a betting man??
And David, was this your dinner?

Never mind, I have a feeling Spurs will come in the top four this year. Their terrible results against other London clubs can't last forever. I predict 2-0 next time they play Arsenal.

You had better get him to the vet, or you could end up with an ex-parrot :-)

I think it's time they looked into making video replays available to refs !!

If I may revert to American English, "You was robbed!" My goodness, what a lousy break for the Spurs.

I don't even want to know what is under the parrot's beak, Brian.
