28th November 2004 - cold but happy

Sarah all wrapped up in her furry coat before we thumped Middlesborough 2-0.

Yep – it’s true – they were 4th in the table and we were 15th but now they’re fifth and we’re 13th……OK OK I know – it’s not that hot but we take our pleasure where we can. Besides which – who would have foreseen that result before the match – all the pundits were saying we’d lose but they were wrong.

It was a dull, dreary, cold day and Sarah’s pose encapsulates it perfectly.

You can see she’s smiling though (and that was before we started scoring) – and we were too.

So, we’ve broken our duck and we’ve shown we can beat even a quality side like ‘Borough. It’s a start. It’s actually quite a good start. I hope we can keep our cup run going on Wednesday night when we play Liverpool in the Cup – my Dad will be flying our flag that night as we can’t be there. Enjoy the game Dad - hope you see a bit of what we love.

Super pic. That's a smiling (and obviously quite pretty) girl behind that parka.
