9th September 2004 - COP OUT SCANDAL

I’m completely exhausted today – after a mere three hours sleep I was up and out of the house to catch the train to the office in time for my board meeting, starting at 9.30am – like I said, whose idea was that?

The meeting lasted from 9.30am until 3.30pm with only ‘comfort breaks’ – for the second day in a row, I had to eat a centrally provided buffet lunch – yuck – I hate those plates of dried up sandwiches that all taste the same. Still at least they had the veggie ones on a separate plate today.

I went back to my desk to catch up on the hundreds of emails that land in my in box each day and had to fend off two full days worth – always such a joy. I was just clearing my desk and thinking to myself ‘I can escape now’ when I received a phone call with a complete bombshell in it. You know, one of those curve balls that life sometimes throws you that you’re not expecting. I ended up being there until 6.30pm and so not home until gone 7.30pm – groan.

So, I got in feeling like a zombie and not having any inspiration for a photo or story so here, in time honoured fashion, is the traditional PotD cop-out shot – they’re the flowers I got for doing the awards. A random look around the house with a hunted look in my eyes for something, anything to photograph and this is the best I can manage. Now for some sleep.
