OK OK I just couldn’t leave it at that. I had to make up for the naked feet of yesterday with a nicer, more acceptable shot for today. Somehow, the vision of these two photos sitting side by side on my gallery just seemed to pull me into doing this shot. So yesterday, the raw and today, the cooked!
Today my body is hurting. I was making supper yesterday and managed to slice through my fingernail and straight into my finger with one of those crescent shaped herb cutters. I’ve had blood seeping through the cut all night and my finger hurts like hell. DM has a headache too so we’re both out of sorts.
I was promised sunshine by the Met Office and it’s raining. When will they learn to get the weather right? Some time ago I did a project for the Met Office and while I was doing it they told me that it’s a fallacy that they always get the weather wrong and that in fact they get it right 99.something% of the time. They say that they’ve been unfairly saddled with this image of getting it wrong because of their failure to predict the hurricane of 16th October 1987. (Interestingly the day I got married, I think I should have taken waking up in a hurricane as a warning sign.) This week though they’ve been wrong almost all of the time.
I’ve been left to my own devices because DM has had his nose in front of the TV since we got up watching the Grand Prix and now he’s having a paddy because Schumacher looks like winning (again) and his McLaren team are languishing in the Championship with Sauber ahead of them. Mind you, he’s probably peeved with me for spending so much time on my PC on a Sunday…..
I just decided that it’d be cool to redo the feet shot with another slinkier one, partly as the antithesis to feeling sore and being unable to do any of my potting up in the garden (because of rain and of wanting to keep my wound clean so I don’t get an infection in it). So, boredom then has inspired this shot. Well, that and the desire to rebuild a positive image for myself after yesterday’s horrid one!
Oh and just in case anyone thinks they’ve caught me out…..no, these are not kittens, they’re stilettos – a subtle difference but an important one. Stilettos are higher and the heel shape is less pronounced. I’m not a big wearer of this sort of shoe (too high) but they were in pristine condition in the wardrobe having only been worn once at a function last year and so I thought they’d look better in a photo than my wonderful bow fronted kittens that I wear to work and have scuffs and bashes all over them.
Once again I ask you to take a glimpse into my slightly warped world and picture this scene. I took this photo at around lunchtime in our ‘middle room’ where our hi-fi lives and much of the photography gear. I was wearing shorts and a vest top with stilettos and stockings while the camera pointed at my feet. The window was about eight feet away and I’m sure if my neighbours were looking out of their side windows they must have wondered what on earth was going on! So, a nice(ish) shot of my feet ruined forever in the minds of the readers of this page by the vision of how the shot was got! Sorry, I can’t resist the need to make it real rather than fantasy again.
