….if I could make the world as pure
and strange as what I’ve seen
I’d put you in the mirror
That I put in front of me
I put in front of me
Linger on
Your pale blue eyes
Linger on
Your pale blue eyes
(Paul Quinn and Edwin Collins – Pale Blue Eyes) NB - I have just discovered the song was written by Lou Reed and was recorded by the Velvet Underground - thanks Colin for letting me know!
This really sums up what’s important in my world. In my professional life, I am exposed all the time. Everything I do is scrutinised mostly by people who are seeking direction or guidance in one way or another but occasionally by people who are watching me and waiting for me to fall so they can gloat. I am in the limelight all the time, either standing in front of an audience speaking, helping people to write or to design stuff well or generating business for my company. I enjoy it most of the time. Sometimes the pressure gets me down though.
When I get home I don’t want to be that person. It’s too stressful. I want to be in the shadows.
So, here is a portrait of my very own love with Pale Blue Eyes. We are going out on a date tonight. I’m really looking forward to it so this is all there is for today. A short section of a wonderful song and a tribute to the man who makes me happy. Now I have to go and get my gladrags on!
Oh and that little bit of a faint smirk....yes, I was whispering in his ear....I'll leave what to your imagination!
