When Jill hit on this idea that we would all send you flowers, I thought long and hard about how to represent you in flowers. I chose this photo - not cut flowers at all but a flowering shrub because I thought that there is a wonderful synergy between this plant and you.

The plant unfurls its long, yellow fingers of petals in what I think of a a jubilant, joyful way. They spread their sunshine and happiness in a unique way at this gloomy time of year. Add to that an intoxicating scent and healing properties and you have the glorious witch (only in the good sense) hazel.
