Get about two pounds of tomatoes, any ripe ones will be fine - I've been using a mix of cherry style small ones and bigger ones (Supersweet and Ailsa Craig - they're what i've grown this year). Roughly chop them - no need to remove skin or pips, just chuck the whole lot in the pan.
