In recent times, much of my time with my mum has been scurrying around, getting rid of things that have been languishing in their cupboards for years in readiness for their big move. I’ve been up and down the motorway to spend days hauling things out of cupboards and saying “what’s this” or “when did you last use this ______”. Then the question is “is it good enough to go to the charity shop or is it junk?” I’ve cleared cupboards in the kitchen, the lounge and the bedrooms. Done several dump runs, even more charity shop runs and generally tried to help to get them into as good a shape as possible.

Today has been the antidote to all that. We’ve been out on a jolly to the Malvern Spring Show. It’s an RHS flower show and it’s just a few short miles from our new home. Mum and dad arrived last night and we left the men at home this morning for a day coveting beautiful gardens (see above), envying the stunning plants and sculptures and generally having a fabulous time mooching about.

It was a fly in the ointment that I lost a pair of glasses in the showground but I spoke to the site team and left my phone number. Later today, the phone rang and it was them saying they’d found my glasses and would send them back to me. How brilliant! A cool end to a fabulous day.
