11th February 2015 - the bigger picture

Isn’t that what it’s all supposed to be about? Standing back, seeing the whole thing, not just a part of it? Weirdly I have found myself as interested in the nitty gritty of how things are made recently. I need to know but it has to be fact. I can see what this is standing on. What it once was is obvious.

I can see the history of what I’ve captured, what I can’t see is whether there is life left in the pot or whether it’s now just more fertiliser. Are those roots still viable? If they are planted in a place where they can suck up nutrition will there be green shoots? Will leaves unfurl and use the light to create sugars, providing energy for growth? Will this primary producer ever again make food for other things in the world other than detritivores?
