You could be forgiven for thinking that there couldn’t be any depth to this desperation shot, taken quite late on Friday evening with razor sharp shallow depth of field. On many levels you’d be right – little or no sleep, a 16 hour working day yesterday and another long, arduous day today, on my hind legs, spreading the love about our gorgeous company, although this time to a very different audience (teenagers at a school careers fair). It’d certainly be true to say I’m running on empty.
Despite this, I still actually quite like the shot and its unassuming nature shows that you can’t judge a book by its cover because this is a book full of love. It’s our wedding album and it’s been a mere five and a half years in the making. It’s taken me that long to collect all of the images, then about a week processing in photoshop for 8-9 hours a day, then a lengthy period when we’d got the pics, all processed and ready to go but with no money to buy the album. For our Christmas present, my parents paid for the album to be made and since then I’ve spent another 3-4 days uploading, sizing and laying out the artwork.
It never fails to amaze me how people think good images just happen and that getting the best out of a photo just means uploading it to facebook.
Anyway, this book contains almost 400 photos of our big day. It’s beautiful and full of love and laughter on the whole. Sadly there are two friends whose images appear in the book who are no longer with us. They’ve been taken away in the last five years without a by-your-leave. Anyway, the book is our treasure trove of love and memories of our big day.
