You may or may not remember my woeful tales about being bought and sold like a slab of meat and ending up a Barclays customer through no fault of my own but being powerless to escape their greedy clutches because of my lack of income?
Anyway, I have finally got my own back because I’ve now got a much better arrangement with an institution that I don’t despise. I’ve tested my new arrangements and they work, moreover I am as confident as I can be that this new relationship is based on them wanting to be my long-term partner, so I’m equally sure that they won’t be selling me any time soon.
Today I cut up my Barclays cards and wrote them an “up yours, you can’t buy me” letter. That’s the end of a sordid liaison with an institution which I believe has the morals of John Stonehouse. David thinks they won’t give a second thought to the fact they’ve lost my business and maybe he’s right but it really gives me a lot of satisfaction.
