Anyone who has ever done or attempted a photo a day challenge will know the feeling of wandering around the house with a rising sense of panic because they can’t find a photo. Today, along with many recent days, has been one such. Still, despite the panic, I love the shot and that’s why I do it. The daily routine of doing it is important for me to keep using my camera and keep thinking of new ideas for stories.
Today’s shot serendipitously reminds me of a private eye or detective’s garb. Of course it’s a cliché but nonetheless I’m sure the image would deliver that feeling to many other folks – it’s not just me.
For some reason, I’m really enjoying my crime fiction at the moment, especially Scandinavian crime fiction. I’ve read four or five things on the trot – Jo Nesbo’s the Redbreast along with Roseanna, The Man Who Went Up in Smoke etc. So, despite its fortuitous composition, I’m going to claim it as a subliminal celebration of the genre.
