To be honest, Christmas has been a bit of a damp squib round these parts – we’ve both been under the weather and our frugal lifestyle has meant no mounds of naughty food or exotic pressies. We were in Waitrose (the best cheese counter) buying our Christmas food and I asked DM if he wanted any chocolate. He responded that he’d love some old-fashioned cocoa dusted chocolate truffles. I refused to buy them declaring that they are so easy to make that even DM could manage perfectly good ones. I supervised him to do just that and the last ones were eaten today. All we have left is two slices of ginger cake and a few nuts but it’s definitely over until next year!
