I had a lucky break – I am still feeling drained and that’s now coupled with a bad head cold so creativity has not been a part of my life today. This morning I got out of bed, opened the curtains and this sight hit me in the face. I reckon that’s mother nature lending me a hand to prop me up and keep me going for another day at least. It’s strange how liberating it felt to know that I had my shot in the bag before I was even dressed. I took it by poking the 5d – still set up for yesterday’s stop-motion shooting – out of the crack between the closed window pane and the open window below.

My world is wonderful, don’t get me wrong, I LOVE my new job. I’m stimulated, busy and thriving on it BUT I’ve not had a single day off since 20th August (my birthday) and the Christmas break can’t come too soon for me. We get almost a fortnight off and we go back to work knowing that the nights are drawing out and we’re on the way to spring (even though there are still two more months of winter to get through first).
