I went to work today with plans. When I arrived they were all forgotten – there was an emergency and all hands were required on pumps. That’s the sort of challenge I love. Apart from an early meeting with a supplier, I spent my day manning emergency stations – getting out a massive order to a special customer. Honestly? I haven’t had so much fun in years..

It’s bound to be true that the warehouse banter was toned down because myself and a couple of other women who were in residence for the day but still, it was brilliant fun. I found myself at 4.30pm thinking I was incapable of continuing. It turned out I wasn’t.

There is something magical about my new life. I find myself transfixed by beauty every day. I’m lucky.
