I’ll be waiting until then to work out why it is that when we are surrounded by fields and fields of rabbits, the foxes want our hens. We were at home all day today so we let the hens out. I was out in the garden doing a few jobs and walked round the corner towards the hen house to see a fox running away and one of my girls (Martha) dead in the run. There was no sign of the other girls (but thankfully no piles of feathers from either of them).

Later on, at dusk, there was a loud clucking from the hen house and one of our girls had made her way home – the other is still missing. GGGggggrrrrrrrrrr.
