Meet Bibble. He’s rather special for a whole host of reasons, not least because he’s mine! I got him today to celebrate a small victory for DM and I. We’ve been able to succeed with the first step of our plans despite our tormentor doing their best to prevent us.
Bibble is a Charlie Bears limited edition bear and I have been lucky enough to work for Charlie Bears, an amazing company, at the Bearhouse for the last few weeks. I’ve been privileged to meet Charlie, the woman who has built this business from scratch in just ten years. She is truly a remarkable woman and I have nothing but admiration for her, most importantly as the creator of these gorgeous bears but also as a businesswoman and a woman who has faced into a cancer diagnosis and treatment with extraordinary bravery.
It’s quite simply an inspirational place to work and when my contract comes to an end in a couple of weeks’ time, I will be both happy to have been a small part of the Charlie Bears story and sad to leave the best business I have ever worked for. The thing that makes it so amazing is that the products we sell are loved by those who buy them. I mean REALLY loved. Each bear that leaves the Bearhouse is cherished and adored by its owner. I know this to be true because I see the facebook feed of Charlie Bears devotees who post dozens of photos of their bears every day.
You can’t help but be sucked into owning a Charlie Bears bear because they are exquisite. I walked into Bryony Bear’s office yesterday, saw him on her desk and decided I needed him in my life. I know you’ll think this is a bit mad but he reminds me of Toby, my first dog. It’s the ginger and black colouring.
I’m afraid my photo isn’t great because his bell is slung over his shoulder in a rather jaunty manner and I only noticed it when I started the post-processing and the trauma of getting my photo lit as I wanted it was too great to consider going back and reshooting. I also leaned heavily on DM for help with the lighting and he is responsible for the fur light!
I love Bibble and I love being a tiny bit of the Charlie Bears story.
Oh, and Bryony Bear will not be happy with me if I fail to mention that we have a small number of Bibbles left on charliebearsdirect - so if you think he's as gorgeous as I do, you could pop along to the website and buy one!
