I’m really not interested in brands by and large. I’ve never coveted Jimmy Choos, Cath Kidston or Dolce and Gabbana. In fact, I’ll even go further than that, when I’m choosing a bag, an item of clothing or a pair of glasses I go out of my way to find ones that don’t have their brand name visible.

There are one or two exceptions to this…one of which is the Spurs brand, which I wear proudly and regularly. Another is Jaguar. I know they didn’t have a particularly good reputation for reliability until recently but, in my view, they are (and always have been) things of great beauty. This grille is on an XK 150 and therefore must have been made between 1957 and 1961. We happened upon a Jaguar owners club meeting on Plymouth Hoe so I took the opportunity for a drool over the fabulous cars.

For the last ten or more years I’ve hankered after an X-type estate but sadly I’m unlikely to ever be able to fulfil my dreams and afford one, especially as I cannot even get a job in a supermarket it would appear… I’d love someone to explain to me why I seem unemployable and useless to employers. I still have the fundamental belief that I could be a great asset to any business or school but it’s hard to keep on believing in myself when I can’t even get in front of people in an interview situation.
