After hunting high and low yesterday for a pair of my glasses (any pair of the six would do), I pull open the fridge and what’s the first thing I see? You may not believe this photo could spontaneously compile itself but in fact, this is exactly what happened.
Because I wear my specs on top of my head most of the time, I have stretched them to all to glory. That means that when I incline my head for any reason, they will often go tumbling off my head and straight into trouble. Today they’ve ended up in the tabbouleh once and in a big hole in the ground earlier in the day (don’t ask).
Sometimes, I feel them going, grab them from the top of head and put them somewhere to keep safe…I think this is one of those occasions.
I’m happy with the contents of my fridge (for once) following a delivery from the wondrous thing that is “Sainsbury’s to you”, although not all of what’s in this shot is from them. The smoked coloured jug is full of the water I cooked potatoes and carrots in a couple of days ago. It’s waiting to be used as the liquid in the bread machine – BTW this is a top tip – for some reason, the bread made with vegetable water is absolutely fantastic. The silver packet in the front of the shot is real, live yeast, which I’ve taken to using in my pizza dough and my weekend breakfast slow rise spicy fruity buns.
Tonight, despite there still being no job and no money, I’ve made some breakthroughs today – the jungle outside the house is tamed and will be seeded tomorrow, the guest rooms are ready and waiting for this weekend’s guests and I’ve not only been personally inspired by the amazing pbaser Faye White, but I’ve also actually persuaded DM that if I emulate her wonderful design, then my mural can go ahead after all. Faye, you are a genius!
