Honestly? Can you believe she was so sick we thought we were going to lose her only two or three weeks ago? No. Neither can we.

She has the shiniest coat of any dog I’ve ever met. She shimmers in the sunshine. She’s alert, interested, energetic and glossy. At this moment, she’s waiting for the tennis ball to be released when she’ll chase it like a wild beast and (she hopes) beat JD to it. Then she’ll run like the wind, with her shepherd’s lantern pointing up at the sky as far away as she can, with JD in hot pursuit. When she judges that she’s made him work hard enough, she’ll drop the ball and allow him to return it to us. Then the whole game starts again with quivering excitement, a flurry of legs and a cloud of dust.

Is there any sign of the mystery illness that blighted her for two weeks? No, no sign at all…and we are deeply, eternally grateful for that. She’s in rude good health and long may that continue.
