…nothing else will do!

This is a cold glass of fizzy water with a slice of lemon – NOT as some might expect, a gin and tonic. It’s a rare treat because we stopped buying bottled water about ten years ago partly in response to living in a part of the country with lovely, clean tap water and partly because we just felt that our environmental credentials were compromised by buying it.

On an odd occasion if I get caught short by being out and desperately thirsty I’ll buy a small bottle but that’s the only time. A couple of weeks ago, we were out and about and had lunch out. I chose fizzy water with mine and remembered how much I loved it so we bought a small pack when we were in the supermarket the other day for treats.

Oh boy our lives are clearly missing a lot of fun because we regard a small bottle of fizzy water as a treat but there you go – that’s the situation. So, here is one of life’s simplest pleasures, bastardised by puffing it full of gas but nonetheless a fabulous treat. Sometimes nothing else will quite hit the spot like it.
