Actually, he’d not run off permanently although he just might next week. He was out working, putting into place the next step of our new-old grand plan. Yep, we’ve got another grand plan underway and today, finally, the first bit of the jigsaw fell into place. So it's new because we've finally made a bit of it happen but it's old because we conceived it almost two years ago now.

The combination of the two things – finally getting shot of the assignment and long awaited news – means that if I were my young, skinny bird twenty-year-old self, I’d have been doing cartwheels naked down the street. As it is, I’ll keep my keks on and celebrate with some nice grub and an early night. Oh boy do I live the high life?
