9th March 2014 - joy crushed

Lola is about a millisecond away from that stick arriving in her mouth and making her a happy little sweetie. It’s gloriously sunny and mild here today. You could even say that there has been some progress in the garden. The greenhouse panels have been replaced and the path has been weeded (both by DM). I have been able to get dry two loads of washing on the washing line – that’s always a great position to be in.

The photo isn’t the greatest pic ever or even the most technically good shot of the day but I went outside for a few minutes, determined to get a photo earlier than midnight tonight and she was in such playful, joyful mood that it is a good pictorial reflection of the day.

Dogs and sticks? I’m sure there are many people out there who will be mortified at throwing sticks for dogs but you can’t escape the fact that they love them. They will seek out a stick and present one to you with great precision and care so woe betide you if you don’t play! I may live to regret that remark if one of them does get speared but for now she plays and is happy.

Postscript: Lola is now on the sofa sulking because she got a ticking off for clambering onto the work surface in the kitchen and licking up flour from where I’d been stretching the last bit of pizza dough out to make it into garlic bread. I walked in to find her with her front paws on the side and her tongue stretching about half way across the surface. She got a stern talking to and she sloped off looking misog. She’s not recovered her earlier bubbliness since! Ooops.

That happens when you put flour on the stick! :-) Dogs and sticks go together!
