25th January 2014 - defying the laws of physics

OK – in my mind’s eye this looked loads different but I was trying DMs patience because it was him pouring endless cups of coffee while flinging coffee beans at them. It shouldn’t have him or me reflected in the shot. It shouldn’t have coffee beans running away everywhere, they should be coming down in a nice stream into the nice stream of coffee. The pot’s lid shouldn’t be scratched all to glory and all-in-all it’d be a loads better shot.

DM was getting bored and frustrated and so I had to make do with the best shot I’d taken in the sequence and go with it. Strangely this is another one of the ones that’s been rumbling around in my mind for ages and it keeps popping out at the wrong moment – at 10pm when I’m desperately looking for a shot but don’t have either the time or the energy for defying the laws of physics.

That’s what it’s known as in our house – “Oh no, Linda’s trying to defy the laws of physics again for her shot!”. Still, at least it’s more interesting than a static shot of something unappealing which was the alternative!

Certainly works for me.
Just call this "Your Favorite Mistake".

Looks good to me - and you got coffee!

I guess, DM is protective of his coffee beans. I know I get upset if I drop one when loading the grinder.
I like the concept of the picture, and it is always fun to try and create an image that's in your mind.

Hey, but the main thing is you had that creative thought in the first place.

The laws of physics were made to be broken! very well done, and thank you DM for your patience!

I think it works really, really well... -- and is exceptionally clever...! I also like the fact that you can both be seen.... (This should be behind the counter of a coffee shop called The Tumbling Beans...!)
