7th January 2014 - The clever member of the family!

This is, of course, my wonderful husband, DM. I’ve never met anyone who I feel so comfortable with and so completely “right” with…which is just as well as we’re married!!!

He is clever. He knows “stuff”. All sorts of interesting facts and to be frank quite a few uninteresting ones too. He’s a person who loves to research the things that are of interest to him and he does so with such zeal that he’ll get to the bottom of subjects about which I know nothing.

Me, on the other hand, well, I’m a complete chump. A dummy who took about an hour and a half to do a simple job at work today that should have taken about 20 minutes because I was trying to save time and ended up spending ages correcting my mistake. Because of this, I was the last person out of the school this evening – I put out the milk bottles and the cat on my way out (figuratively of course). I got in my car (aka the sunshine bus) and then managed to get lost on the way home from work. I missed an important but insignificant turning, didn’t realise my mistake and ended up in the pitch dark in a narrow lane realising I was going in the opposite direction to home. When I ‘fessed up what I’d done to DM, he said “didn’t you realise you’d gone wrong when you came to that roundabout by the leisure centre?”. I have to confess that I just thought I’d never noticed it before!!!

So, my mistakes meant I got home at gone 7pm, a full twelve hours after leaving it and I’m now more knackered than before, not least because we had a second night in a row of thunderstorms and JD howling. I’m just glad this photo has been sloshing around in my imagination for several days now because it meant I got a cracking photo with minimal effort in only three shots. It’s the first time I’ve felt really good about my photo so far this year.

I like its 1960s grungy feel.

When you said "to be frank quite a few uninteresting ones too" I suddenly thought I still know the registration plate of the milk float that came and delivered to us when I was a boy. It was GPJ 15C but why hasn't that useless bit info been forgotten?

One of the best b/w's and best portraits I've seen in a very long time. Excellent, Linda.

I'm just trying to work out where the USB lead plugs in...

I think you are way to hard on yourself. And I agree that David is quite the clever tech quy.

A well executed plan... love it.
