Yep – it’s another shot of the Tamar from the train as dawn broke this morning.
I left home in the dark, I arrived at Uni at dawn, I spent five hours of my nine hour Uni day in a dark room with no natural light and forgive me for saying this but you know what mushrooms, those amazing organisms that live in the dark get fed? Well, I reckon I’ve been fed a few shovels-full of that today!I have returned from feeling useful for the last month to feeling utterly useless again in super-fast time.
Then, just to make it all even better, I came out of Uni in the pitch dark, got to the station about five minutes after a train had just left, to find the next one, due in 20 minutes was delayed by 20 mins and therefore I spent 40 mins in bitter cold wind on Plymouth Station. So, it’s not been the best day, even though I’m sure it’s been worse for many others across this green and pleasant land, what with floods and high winds again.
It’s been a strange old evening too. I got in very late from Uni and only sat down half an hour ago after finishing my evening’s chores. I loaded up my laptop and the first thing I saw was news of Nelson Mandela’s death. I echo the thoughts of others – we all knew it was coming soon but even so it’s a great shock.
