I was forced to come home today after my day job. I’d normally go straight from there to my evening job but I was waiting for an important phone call. I know this makes me the most weird person on the planet but I don’t think that serious phone conversations have any place happening in the fruit and veg aisle in Morrisons so I don’t have a mobile phone and therefore it’s a land line on which I heard the news that our lives are not going to get better any time soon! It’s a bummer but there it is. I failed! It’s a good job that something DM did today made our lives a bit better in another way or I’d be feeling even more disconsolate now than I already am.
So as a consequence of being tied to the house, I decided I may as well tackle the mountain of ironing almost as big as a house, especially because I’m going to need something very smart to wear tomorrow again and the only smart (ten years old but still just about hanging on in there in the smart stakes) outfit I own was amongst the mountain. It’s such a big mountain that I’ve been working on it for two hours and it’s still around half the size it was when I started.
A break for a meal and a few rays of sunshine gave me the impetus to go and wander round the jungle to find myself a photo. I LOVE sunlight through leaves. This grapevine was a gift from J&J many years ago and it’s now romping along the veggie garden fence at a cracking pace. Each year it does get grapes on it but they are always small and never fully ripen but even so, I think it’s a miraculous thing.
