I realise there is a big murky mark on this image and I believe it’s as a result of a dog slobbering on the lens of the camera recently. I will endeavour to do something about it when my feet next touch the ground.
Work started at 8am this morning and was scheduled to finish at 1pm so I could go home and apply for an important job before the deadline (midnight tonight). I finally got home at 3.30pm, covered in paint and other detritus so by the time I’d had a shower and a sandwich made with dry bread and a lot of tomatoes because there was nothing else and got down to work it was 4pm. At 7.30pm I had to go and buy food before I could cook a meal so we ate at 8.45pm – a return to the bad old days of corporate whoredom. Still, I have just submitted it – phew! Wish me luck.
This shot is of one of my “projects” – it’s the restoration of a garden that has been neglected for a while. I am very proud of its return to productivity and general green-ness. I’d be even prouder if I’d not just seen a photo of what’s on the other side of the fence – DM showed me a photo of Erica’s garden from a perspective I never see – within! She is a marvellous human being - the Brussels sprouts in the front of this image are from her greenhouse this morning. I generally only get to see her garden from hanging over the fence chatting and it looks bloody good from there but I was wowed by seeing its full glory from the photo Erica posted on facebook. So, my little patch is a smaller victory than I’d have thought a few hours ago but nonetheless sweet. (Thanks to my Mum who made most of the effort to tame the veggie garden last week.)
