It’s been quite rare since I restarted my PAD at the beginning of the year that I’ve taken a photo and thought “yep, I like that a lot” but today is one of those days. These are tiny jars of five different types of mustard that managed to find their way here in DMs bag when he returned from "the smoke". They are a gift from his Mum, Margaret. Thanks Margaret both for the mustard and the photo op.
I’m also pleased that I went back and re-shot the pic after discovering that one of the lids had a visible date stamp when I looked at the file. I suppose I could have photoshopped it out but for two reasons I re-shot. Firstly I must confess to not being all that good at photoshop – I can do the basic stuff like clone out my sensor dust, crop and resize but as for the rest of the gizmos I don’t have much of a clue. The other reason is that DM can be a bit of a tyrant with regard to “getting it right in the camera” and it’s rubbed off on me. I will ‘fess up to correcting a 1⁰ tilt and an associated tiny crop but otherwise it’s as shot.
It’d interest me to hear from other PADers how “organised” they are with regard to getting a shot. I find that there are some days when I know all day what I’m going to photograph, like JD waiting for his “Dad” to come home the other day, other days when I get inspiration on my way home from Uni (like the old bones) and some days when I’m scratching my head, pacing around the house, camera in hand going “uuuurrrrggg, what can I photograph?” These are the days of a test of mettle. Today was one such and it worked out just fine, there are many other such days that end in disaster. So, for today, phew – I live to fight another day.
Looking at these jars it reminds me I must "put on a batch" of home-made mustard. it's extremely easy to make but needs time to mature before use.
