We have weather that can only be described as torrential. It’s rained more-or-less non-stop since the 1st May last year and despite this, we have primroses, real roses, St Peter Port daisies and French lavender all flowering in our front garden in mid-January. I barely got a flower out of any of them all summer last year. Maybe they’ve just decided that enough misery is enough. Maybe they’re just confused. Maybe they think they’re never going to get a winter rest so they might as well just get on with it.
So, here is some French lavender in full flower in January in a brief interlude of sunshine amid the rain.……oh and maybe some snow. Well, they (the Met Office) can’t make up their minds at the moment, first it’s on, then it’s off then it’s on again and at the moment it’s off. But we’ve been warned to be on guard, just in case it’s back on again.
Do you know why? Yep, it’s because I went and had winter tyres fitted to the sunshine bus in November so of course it’s going to be the first winter since we’ve been here that we’ve not been snowed in.
Today I'd taken my photo before mid-day - yee haa
