I saw this caterpillar on a tomato, popped into the house for my macro lens and started shooting...then this happened. I don't know if what I've captured is repulsive or not. I just know it's probably quite a rare capture if the caterpillar shots I've found on the web are anything to go by. I was trying to identify the species and many of the shots I found are barely recognisable, let alone showing anything interesting.

Anyway, if you can throw light on the species - the closest I got was that it could be a vapourer moth - but it's not EXACTLY the same as the pics I saw of them.

BTW - I reckon this is best viewed in slideshow!
